Threat of the True-or-False Sorcerer!

Justice League of America #49

November 1966

In a Nutshell

In an attempt to escape prison, Felix Faust has inadvertently created a duplicate of himself. When the spell wears off, the duplicate will vanish, and the universe will be destroyed. The two Fausts recruit the JLA to help them figure out which one is real, and which is the duplicate. The Leaguers are stumped, leaving the mascot to once again save the day.

Roll Call

Superman, the Flash, Green Lantern and Batman all combat fairy tale creatures in an attempt to solve the riddle of which Faust is real. Ultimately, they fail to find the answer.

It falls to Snapper Carr to solve the problem. Coincidentally, he had just visited the penitentiary where Faust was imprisoned, confirming that the real sorcerer is still behind the bars, and both the Fausts the League have been dealing with are duplicates.

The Scorecard

Snapper Carr has earned the only contribution credit this issue, and gets a bonus point for single-handedly saving the day. This allows him to leapfrog over the Atom and Green Arrow, once again tying with Batman.
