The Deadly Dreams of Doctor Destiny!
Justice League of America #34
March 1965
In a Nutshell
Doctor Destiny has devised a way to attack the Justice League in his dreams, by dreaming up both menaces for them to fight and devices that handicap them. The Atom punches him, and that’s the end of that.
Roll Call
Once again, the League find themselves responding to a revenge plot. It would be easy to argue that none of this would have happened if the League didn’t exist, and therefore no one really deserves contribution credit. However, the menaces Doctor Destiny dreams into being are causing significant property damage, so I’m reluctantly crediting them for putting a stop to it.
- Batman and Hawkman prevent dream duplicates of the Joker and Chad from stealing Mayan artifacts.
- Superman stops a giant statue that is rampaging across Italy.
- Wonder Woman and the Atom defeat an enormous sea creature that is causing tidal waves.
- Snapper Carr is eager to document the adventure, but does not contribute.
The Scorecard
The Flash and Green Lantern lose their perfect attendance ratings with this issue. The Flash and Martian Manhunter’s absences also allow Wonder Woman to take sole possession of second place in the contribution rankings.
