Challenge of the Untouchable Aliens!
Justice League of America #15
November 1962
In a Nutshell
A parallel world is merging with Earth, threatening to destroy both worlds. Stone giants from this other Earth have decided the easiest solution is to blow up our cities. Green Lantern counters with the suggestion that they just fix the problem instead.
Roll Call
Pretty much the whole gang roles out to combat the Stone Giants’ attempts to destroy several of Earth’s cities.
- Superman and Wonder Woman are on hand to rescue the crew of the experimental Sky Fortress, which is being torn apart by invisible aliens stealing its Atomic Cannon.
- The Flash rescues the staff of an office building that has been targeted by the stolen cannon.
- The Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow and Aquaman prevent one of the aliens from destroying Tokyo with atomic missiles, though they are unable to capture the giant.
- Superman, Wonder Woman and the Atom destroy a machine that is raining a super-solvent down on Brasilia.
- Green Lantern, Batman and the Flash combat aliens attacking Central City with an earthquake machine, but GL is the only one who accomplishes anything. In addition to destroying the earthquake machine, the Emerald Gladiator also fixes the problem of the merging Earths.
- Snapper Carr remains back at JLA headquarters, and isn’t happy about it.
The Scorecard
Batman and Snapper Carr are both useless this issue. Everyone else makes a contribution, so overall standings remain the same.
